Songkran (Thai New Year)

Encountering our neighborhood monks on a morning walk. They make their rounds each morning to collect food from our neighbors who prepare it and offer it to them to make merit. A reminder of the desperate need for Christ in this unreached place, and in our immediate community.

Songkran, the Thai New Year celebration, is held in the middle of April each year! It is essentially a week long, nation-wide water festival. It is the biggest holiday of the year, celebrated by wearing colorful floral shirts, patting white powder on each other's faces, and spraying passersby with water. April is also the peak of hot season here in Thailand, with daily temperatures often reaching 105 or higher, so this water festival falls at a welcome time!

Our family took this holiday as an opportunity to close the food truck for a few days, giving our employees time with their families, and allowing us a few days to get away to the cooler mountains a few hours away! We stopped at a little mountainside community for lunch during our drive, and these sweet older women were all smitten with Esme.

We thank the Lord for a few days in the beautiful rolling mountains, focused on connecting with Him, enjoying our girls, and seeking Him regarding the future of Sauced & Tossed specifically.

As mentioned previously, we feel we are in a pivotal season with Sauced & Tossed, and hope to share more specifics with you all in the coming weeks. We ask for you to join us in praying for God's guidance and peace as we counsel with those He has placed in our life and seek Him on what He has for our family's life and ministry in Thailand.

- pray for clarity and guidance regarding the future of Sauced & Tossed.

- pray for the gospel to take root in the hearts of those who have heard and have yet to surrender to Christ. Pray for Bee specifically, who is in a season of counting the cost of following Christ when her parents are staunchly opposed.
