Christmas in Udon.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours!
We hope these past few weeks have been rich in savoring the truths of the incarnation of Christ and our rescue. Christmas is always a joyful, but sobering time for us in Thailand. Christmas decorations and Christmas carols have found their way here, but very few know the true meaning of the celebrations. We were especially struck by this reality as we were walking through the mall on Christmas Eve, with the lyrics "let earth receive her King" being played over the loud speaker as the crowd walks the halls, oblivious to this eternal reality and the weight of their need for this King. It's sobering and motivating to be among the few who know life in Christ here in Udon Thani.
Our blue-loving girl found a blue tree in the mall.
This month brought with it some really fun opportunities for Sauced & Tossed! We were able to host a few different events and use the Christmas season as a springboard for sharing the meaning of Christmas and the gospel through tracts and public messages. It's been an encouraging month for the business, as we also ended the year with record monthly sales.
A glimpse into the two-night Christmas party we hosted at our local market.
It was also an encouraging month for Good News Church! We were able to do several outreaches at local schools and parks, sharing the gospel through the Christmas story. The Sunday before Christmas we had our Christmas service, and were thrilled to see many people come from the community, including college students who have connected with the campus ministry and relatives and friends of church members. May God bless the gospel message that was shared in the hearts of those who heard, and may many more come to saving faith in Christ!
A picture of our team from our Christmas party! We look into the next year hopeful and excited for what it might hold for our business/ministry and family.
PRAISES & PRAYER REQUESTS:
- praise the Lord for an encouraging Christmas season here in Udon Thani!
- pray for those who were exposed to the gospel over this past month. Pray for soft hearts and true repentance.
"But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons." (Galatians 4:4-5)
