Weekends when Ryan can spend evenings with us are thoroughly enjoyed!
Looking back over this month, we are thankful for the ways God has been working. We have been able to hire a new employee, had an encouraging month with Sauced & Tossed in general, and have seen the Lord integrate our lives more with Thai friends, our church family, and our employees.
Enjoying a meal with our S&T team! We are thankful for the opportunity to share life with them, and for the grace they show us as we function in our second language.
Meet our newest employee, P'Plaa! As mentioned in last month's post, we had a couple stressful weeks at the beginning of the month in regards to our business visa/immigration requirements and were unsure what the future would hold for Sauced & Tossed. God graciously provided a way forward that allowed us to operate with integrity. However, this meant that we needed to let go of two of our part time employees to hire a full time employee, which is where P'Plaa comes in. Needless to say, emotions were a little tense at times and stress was high in certain moments, but now just a few weeks later we can look back and see God's kindness and tender hand of guidance through it all.
P'Plaa has been such an amazing addition to the team, and helps with food prep at our house before selling at the market as well, which has taken a huge load off of us. She is Buddhist, though not devout, and has been open to some spiritual conversation so far, so we are hoping for more opportunities to share Jesus with her in the future!
God continues to provide friends for Nova and I as well. Kids are such a sweet avenue for connection with others. This month has held several playdates!
We are house hunting in Udon Thani again! Now that our church has a location in the heart of the city, and the market we are selling at (and hope to be at long term) is also in the city, we are looking to rent a house closer to those two places. This month, we have had a few good leads, but nothing has come of them, so would love your prayers for God's direction and provision in finding a house further into the city!
This is the kitchen of a home we looked at this week. It turns out that we will not be renting that house, but I loved the sunlight hitting this Thai style kitchen.
PRAISES & PRAYER REQUESTS:
- praise God for His kindness and provision for S&T!
- praise God for leading P'Plaa to us! Pray for her heart to be soft to the gospel, and that the Spirit would work in her as we work together.
- pray for God's guidance in the house hunt! We would desire somewhere in the heart of the city, with parking for the food truck, and within our existing house budget.
- continue to pray for wisdom in shepherding Nova's heart and training her in the Lord. We are increasingly aware of how much we are "first time parents" and feel out of our league dealing with toddler emotions and needs.
"So when the devil throws your sins in your face and declares that you deserve death and hell, tell him this: 'I admit that I deserve death and hell, what of it? For I know One who suffered and made satisfaction on my behalf. His name is Jesus Christ, Son of God, and where He is there I shall be also!'" (Martin Luther)
